The British luxury line, Titanic struck an iceberg
on April 15, 1912, en route to New York City from Southampton,
England, during its maiden voyage and sank. At the time the Titanic
was the largest and most luxurious ship afloat and considered
unsinkable due to the unique design of it's hull . When it struck
the iceberg five of its watertight compartments were ruptured
and She sank at about 400 miles south of Newfoundland. 1500 people
lost their lives, many of them famous and people of society.
